St. Mary's Hospital

When George was born, only a wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London was shutdown, presumably for additional privacy. However, the hospital has now decided to close the entire ward (or unit) where Kate is being prepared for labor due to medical reasons. According to The Standard, the Zachary Cope Ward at St. Mary’s Hospital was closed on April 15 after eight people were infected with CPE (carbapenemase producing enterobacteriaceae), which can cause potentially fatal infections in the bloodstream and urine and is resistant to antibiotics.

But don’t be alarmed. All infected patients have completely recovered from their localized infections.
